Overview
Bundelkhand University is a state university in Jhansi, set up in 1975 under the U.P. Universities Act and given Category-I status by UGC. Its newly set up Centre for Distance and Online Education teaches eight degrees by distance, with self-learning material, an online learning portal and semester-end exams at university centres.

Get fee detailsTuition is the 2026-27 programme fee on the CDOE’s course pages and brochures, payable each academic year, and every course adds a one-time ₹1,000 registration fee. The pages disagree on the rest: the fee tables add a ₹2,000 exam fee a year, while the summaries and the CDOE’s FAQ add ₹1,000 a semester for exams and ₹1,500 a semester for library, e-resources and ICT, which gives the higher totals. Ask the CDOE which applies before you pay.

Eligibility

MCA
A degree in any discipline from a recognised university. The course page also asks for 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) and Mathematics in Class 12; non-IT graduates get bridge courses.

A B.Com, B.Com (Hons) or BBA from a recognised university with 45% marks.

B.Com
Class 12 in Commerce, or Science with Mathematics, with 40% marks; vocational-stream students can’t apply. The programme report says 50%.

BA (Hons) English or Hindi, BBA
Class 12 in any stream, with 40% marks for the BA and 45% for the BBA. There is no age limit.
Exams and study
Held at exam centres the university notifies, within its territorial jurisdiction under UGC rules. The CDOE says to follow university exam notices for centres and dates.
You get printed or digital self-learning material, a login to the learning management system for notices and assignments, and counselling sessions.
Assignments and projects count as continuous assessment alongside the semester-end exams. The B.Com must be finished within six years, with a certificate after one year or a diploma after two if you leave early.
UGC recognition. UGC-DEB’s 2026-27 list of Category-I HEIs entitled to offer ODL programmes (session beginning August 2026) includes Bundelkhand University for 8 programmes: BA (Hons) English and Hindi, BBA, B.Com, M.Com, MCA, M.Sc Computer Science and M.Sc Mathematics. It has no online programmes on the 2026-27 lists.
