About IGNOU Online
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), established by an Act of Parliament in 1985 and headquartered at Maidan Garhi, New Delhi, is India’s national open university and the world’s largest university by enrolment (3 million+ active learners). Known as ‘The People’s University’, it delivers education through Open & Distance Learning (ODL) and, more recently, fully Online programmes, via 21 Schools of Studies, 67 regional centres and ~2,667 learner support centres plus overseas partners. It is the first ODL institution in India to receive NAAC A++ accreditation and is the most affordable, government-backed, mass-access option in the Indian online/distance landscape.
